We are an independent expenditure-only committee. We intend to make independent expenditures (and lots of ’em), consistent with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit decision in SpeechNow v. FEC. We therefore intend to raise funds in unlimited amounts. This committee will not use those funds to make contributions, whether direct, in-kind, or via coordinated communications, to federal candidates or committees.

Contributions to Americans for a Better Tomorrow, Yesterday (“AFBT,Y”) are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. AFBT,Y may accept unlimited corporate contributions, unlimited individual contributions, unlimited labor-union contributions, and unlimited PAC contributions. Contributions from foreign nationals and federal-government contractors will not be accepted. *Federal law requires AFBT,Y’s best efforts to obtain and report the name, address, occupation, and employer of any individual who contributes more than $200 in a calendar year.

  1. … does that mean that you will only avoid donating to federal committees, or all committees?

  2. Greg Allen says:

I would like to make a donation to your organization but I don’t see where I can contribute. Also, I’m worried about deflation. There’s nothing worse than making a substantial donation today only to see it deflate to yesterday’s paltry number. Is there any way to contribute today’s money at yesterday’s value?
